AutoCAD 2020 is a 15-year-old product that has continued to be updated to this day. It is the most powerful and popular CAD application on the market today. Since the introduction of AutoCAD in 1982, it has become the industry standard in CAD programs. Since inception, AutoCAD has addressed the needs of both CAD users and CAD designers. During its existence, the various releases of AutoCAD have included many new features as well as bug fixes. For example, AutoCAD 2014 introduced the ability to create and edit 2D and 3D blocks. New versions of AutoCAD also added new features such as auto outlining and full screen editing, amongst other new features.
Currently, the most recent version of AutoCAD is AutoCAD 2020. This version of AutoCAD includes many enhancements and bug fixes. It was released in early 2019 and has been constantly updated ever since. Some of the more notable features of this version include:

Command-line Interface (CLI) based on AutoLISP is another important API. This is the preferred method to automate CAD work in batch mode. CLI functions can be mixed into other programs, like AutoCAD or other Autodesk products, for example.
A number of add-ons are available to extend the functionality of AutoCAD, including:
3D wireframe and surface modeling with specific applications
FEA with specific applications
Inventor CAD with parametric families and 3D solids
AutoCAD is built on the same cross-platform code base as AutoCAD LT and also supports Unicode and advanced text object recognition.
Updates to the AutoCAD product range include new features and functionality. New features include:
New tools, such as the Transparent Toolbar
Feature-based interoperability with other Autodesk products, including Autodesk Revit, Autodesk BIM 360 and Autodesk Design Review
New file formats such as DWGx (AutoCAD 2005), DWV (AutoCAD 2007), PDF (AutoCAD LT 2011 and AutoCAD 2012), DXF and STL.
In 1987, AutoCAD was introduced as AutoCAD View. View was released as a stand-alone program with a large price tag. View was later sold as a subscription-based program with a small initial down payment and subscription fees.
In 1990, AutoCAD View 2.0 was introduced as Autodesk View 2.0 with a new user interface, and moved away from the OS/2 platform to Win32.
In 1991, Autodesk entered into a license and joint development agreement with the cooperative manufacturing company Prodrive, where they jointly developed AutoCAD. AutoCAD View 3.0, based on AutoCAD for OS/2, was released with a similar user interface to Autodesk View 2.0, but was much faster.
In 1992, AutoCAD View 3.5 was released and then sold as a stand-alone product. It was based on AutoCAD for OS/2 2.5.
In 1994, AutoCAD 3D was released. The licensing for Autodesk View 3.5 was discontinued and AutoCAD View 3.5 was sold separately as AutoCAD View. AutoCAD View

Why doesn’t Windows 8 act like a standard Windows installation?
I have an 8 GB USB flash drive which I had partitioned into a system and a data partition. I installed Windows 8 onto the system partition. Then I created a folder on the data partition. Now I am unable to access the data partition using the Windows 8 operating system.
Is there any way to access the data partition? I need the data partition for software development and I don’t want to overwrite anything that I already have on the system partition.
You need to perform a clean install of Windows 8 with a Windows 8 installer CD/DVD.
You don’t need to perform a clean install for each system change.
What’s New In AutoCAD?
Drawing properties and scales are now shared across drawing files, so you can use the same settings on different drawing files without having to use different properties or scales.
Simplified creation of Multi-Information Charts (MICs) with Microsoft Excel. Now you can create your own legends for your drawings by adding pictures and text to the chart sheets.
Supported and Drafting Views:
This release provides a user-friendly experience for supporting views, which means that you can easily switch between supporting views in the same drawing.
Viewport Pan and Zoom:
You can pan or zoom into a drawing view from the drawing, or from a command-line application like VSP, VSI or VSPView.
Save time by creating bookmarks and quickly navigate to them. You can use the Create Bookmark tool to start a drawing bookmarks file directly and then switch to it with a hotkey.
The ribbon provides a new way to access command-line commands.
Filtering and Selection:
You can filter a set of objects by selecting those objects and clicking on a filter option. You can also use the Filtering menu to filter items by attributes. You can also select a set of objects and then use the Selection menu to activate the selection, or to select objects that are not active.
The hyperlink tool supports links to other files. You can add a hyperlink from a drawing to a document such as a Word or PowerPoint document. When you open the document, the drawing appears embedded within the document. (Video: 2:15 min.)
Elevations now display in three ways: with an actual elevation, as a set of control points, or as contours.
You can now easily save and export rotation information and set it as default for later use.
Enter any text in the Description column of an Excel table and then select the “Create Table” command. The table will be automatically placed on the drawing and formatted according to the selected shape and text properties.
Preview your print quality before you print.
You can apply and remove clipping masks in the Clipboard panel.
